“If” I could astral project through space and time, at 11:44 PM PST last night you would’ve found me shivering in the heart of Antarctica – braving the winds from the north in my unicorn onesie, rainbow binoculars locked on the heavens – anticipating the union of the sun and moon.
While most of us on the West Coast slept last night, there was a Total Solar Eclipse. For nearly 2 minutes, the moon overthrew the sun and reigned supreme over the South Pole, confusing a bunch of penguins in the process.
Had I attended last night’s eclipse in Antarctica, knowing how I get, I’d likely be reminded of how small I am in the big picture. In that 1 minute and 47 seconds of darkness, outside of second guessing my outfit, I’d question my purpose, my place within this solar powered snow globe.
Regardless of my age, I’m still a kid laying in an open field, seeking answers in the constellations. If I could astral project, had I gazed up at the solar eclipse from bottom of the planet before midnight last night – shivering in my unicorn onesie, hushing the panicked penguins at my feet – you would’ve found a grateful man, one with tears bedazzled in his beard. Inevitably, I’d be gripped by the question that haunts me, the one no man or penguin can answer with certainty – Why? ✨👩🚀❤️
