Gentleman’s Rhapsody

It’s been a long time since I recorded some new material. Leveraging of an excerpt from an essay I wrote last year, “The Haunting of Damon Wallace”, I recorded a new track “Gentleman’s Rhapsody”.

It was fun stepping up to the mic again after 12 years, definitely got me itching to record more. I took the video footage from what feels like an endless supply of footage I recorded since 2020, when I had lots of time to kill (sure came in helpful though!).

I try to enunciate when recording, but not always so successful; included the words below for safe measure. 😊

GENTLEMAN’S RHAPSODY 🕺✨

If it were written today, I’d likely be remembered as a kind and agreeable man, which are characteristics I proudly wear as a badge of honor, one that I don’t intend to surrender.

Of the many truths I’ve learned in this lifetime, it’s that being kind requires a dignified strength, discipline, and restraint that is rarely celebrated.

To be a gentleman, after all, you have to be willing to sacrifice a part of your ego; the part of me that has to be better than you, the part that doesn’t listen and makes assumptions, that has to be right to prove you wrong.

You have no one’s expectations to meet but your own. I’m reclaiming my ego, all of it. This is me proving me wrong.
