After connecting the dots in recent months and sharing that my family has been trafficking me since 1978, I received a text from my old employer last week.
To say the conversation creeped me out would be an understatement. He used assumptive statements like “you’re depressed”, advised me not to share personal information on a public platform, and went on to tell me how much he still sings my praises at the office, before letting me know he had a position waiting for me and closing the conversation with an “I love you”.
I’m not saying my previous employer is involved with my family’s efforts to traffic me and money laundering schemes. Everyone knows what an upstanding, morally responsible citizen my old boss is.
While the very thought of my previous employer being involved in my family’s money laundering is laughable, I am saying his timing, sudden concerns and support, along with a flurry of texts that followed from old coworkers letting me know they miss me, is completely tone deaf and creepy given my personal circumstances.

Since leaving my job last August, I haven’t received support from my previous employees. While I was hurt, I at least understood what I truly meant to them. If I was a paranoid man, I’d likely think there was a directive to not support me so that I could later be lured back into the fold.
Since last week, my viewership on TikTok has been reduced to single digits (views not likes). At this point, the efforts to silence me is just laughable and pathetic. I’m only using the platform now as a journal.
However much I may love and care for the people I previously worked with, I hope they understand that their stone cold silence while my creative expression was under attack solidified my boundaries with them today.
Put more simply- Consider this post my official cease & desist.
